Today's recipe comes from this great blog, I recently found. It has some tasty and incredibly healthy ideas!
What you will need:
1 pizza dough
1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp red wine vinegar
Salt and Pepper
3 cloves of garlic
Handful of Mozzarella cheese
Handful of fresh basil
This recipe talks about a pizza stone, I didn't have one so I cooked according to the instructions on the pizza dough I purchased.
Make the pizza sauce. Mix the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, red wine vinegar. Stir it up and add salt and pepper to taste. The sauce is ready when it has a tart taste to it.
Mince the three garlic cloves ( or get a jar already minced to save time)
Assemble the pizza. Spread the sauce thinly over the dough. (You should have plenty of sauce for other uses. My husband decided to use some today over his ramen noodles for lunch. lol) Sprinkle on the minced garlic, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
Bake until the cheese and crust are a nice brown color. (5-7 minutes approximately)
Add the fresh basil and be sure to eat the pizza before it turns a dark green color.
