Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are wearing your Green today. ;) Wouldn't want to get pinched. I pinched John earlier and chased Sophie around the house saying I was going to pinch her. You had to be here, it was pretty humorous.

If you haven't you should check out this cute little video I found here. It's great for kids and I enjoyed watching it myself. :)

Get Lucky Swap Reveal

Hey guys!

I'm sorry I'm posting this a little late! Our schedule is kinda crazy here and if I don't post something the day before, it usually gets posted later than I planned. :(

Anyway, I'm so glad you all participated in the Get Lucky Swap! Cami and I were so excited to get this organized and I think it was pretty successful. I look forward to seeing what everyone received. Hopefully, this can become an annual thing. :)

My partner was Lauren! It was so fun shopping for her and making a new blog friend. She has a super cute blog about her life and travels and I think you should all click on her name and check it out. :) My package to Lauren had a St. Patty's Day/Spring theme. I hope she is enjoying it!

I got these cute green earrings, a few of these cute shamrock straws, and these very festive socks. :)

Plus this cute card

with this sweet message!

Thanks again, Lauren!

St. Patty's Day 2011

Hey everyone!

I'm still feeling under the weather and my original post got deleted. :/ *frustrated scream* And moving on...

Every year I try to learn something new with each holiday. I don't like not knowing the origins of whatever I'm celebrating. (Thanks History.com) So here are just a few facts:

Shamrocks symbolize the rebirth of spring.

There are 36.9 million U.S. residents with Irish roots. This number is more than eight times the population of Ireland itself (4.5 million).

The original Irish name for a leprechaun was "lobaircin," meaning "small-bodied fellow."

Leprechauns had nothing to do with St. Patty's Day, until Disney released a film called "Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

Though cabbage has long been an Irish food, corned beef only began to be associated with St. Patrick's Day at the turn of the century.

Now don't you feel smarter. ;)

Tonight I'm cooking corned beef hash and a special Irish themed dessert. We are also watching Darby O'Gill and the Little People, for the first time. What are your St. Patty's Day plans?

In closing:

Question 2: Which is worse, failing or never trying?

I'm very much a perfectionist, but I would have to say never trying. I would much rather be able to say I gave it my all. I think some of the most valued lessons we learn come with failure.
