Odds and Ends

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I was able to get the kitchen drawers, cabinets, pantry, fridge, etc. cleaned out. John and I went through all of our clothes and between the two of us, we have more than enough to donate. We filled up the car and will probably be taking stuff to Goodwill this evening. I'll also be going on a shopping trip (at some point) to replace some things I can no longer wear. As well as scheduling a hair cut...I'm in desperate need of one. I just don't know what to do with it!

On another note, I filled out my application to start school again. If all goes according to plan, I'll start in June. I'll be studying to get my CNA. I'm looking forward to it!

9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?

This is an interesting question. I have a control-freak type personality. I want to be in control and feel that I have the power over situations. There are times when I don't. This is when I'm reminded that God is in control. I have to trust in Him for my future. This is not easy, but it does make dealing with tough times easier.

  1. Spring cleaning... I don't know if I look forward to it or dread it! I like that you and your hubby worked together.... if only... ~ Ellen

  2. Oh goodness...I don't keep up with my normal cleaning as well as I should, much less deep cleaning like you do for spring! You're more industrious than I am...

  3. Hooray for Spring cleaning! I can't wait to purge some of the stuff we won't need here in new country! So cool of your hubs to join in on the fun! I love your blog and I can't wait to read more! :-)

  4. Don't you just feel cleansed after getting rid of a bunch of stuff? Good luck on your CNA journey!

  5. Congrats on going back to school! Best of luck to you!

  6. Ohhh I so need to start my cleaning, thanks for the motivation. :) Congrats on going back to school, its hard work but should be well worth the time!! Have a great week.

  7. Ellen: Thanks for commenting. I'm getting to the harder stuff...so I'm pretty tired of it. ;)

Little Bitty Things: Thanks for the sweet comment, but it sounds better than it is. My normal cleaning is off now...:/

Mrs. Sergeant: Thanks for the comment. It does feel great to get rid of things I don't need.

  8. @ Jenn at Sweet T Make Three: Most definitely, I can't wait to get to the bedrooms! Thanks!

    @ Holly: Thanks :)

@Coupon Queen: Thanks! Hope you have a great week also!

  9. found you on a blog hop..now following!..hope you can follow back also? i just started so i'd really appreciate it :-)
    xoxo from NY!

  10. Thanks for the follow! I'm now returning the favor. :)

  11. I have been doing the same thing! I am feeling consumed by too MUCH stuff!! Thanks for the follow. I am now following you back.

  12. Ah, I am so jealous. I love cleanning and organizing like this. It brings me this really serene feeling when I am done. You are totally motivating when all the craziness in my life slows down I will attack my kitchen. I do the closets periodically so not too bad.
What is a CNA? That is great though you are going back. Exciting.

  13. @ Daphne: I'm glad I could help with the motivation.

CNA is certified nursing assistant. The medical field seems to be doing pretty well despite the economy, so I hope this is a good choice. Thanks! :)

  14. I think one of my biggest goals right now is to get organized. I'm really terrible though. I can never find anything and am always searching for something until the whole house is in a mad panic to help me find it. We don't find it and have to go out and buy a new one so that the next week I can find the original and feel like an idiot.

  15. I know the feeling...we're trying to get rid of stuff we don't need to help with that. We have finally reached the bedrooms and I'm losing steam...ready to be finished already! Good luck! :)
