Refocusing

Hey guys,

I'm back!

I first want to say thank you to those who commented on my last post. (I took it down, it was a venting post and I just needed to get some things out.) I'm so thankful for loyal and encouraging bloggy friends. I have had time to think things through with my blog and what direction I want to go in. I even contemplated deleting my blog altogether, but I was reminded of how much I truly love blogging and how many wonderful blog friends I have made.

So here are a few changes I plan to make:

No rules, no parameters. Total free writing until further notice.

I won't be participating in any link-ups or networking for awhile. (I think I have gotten bogged down in trying to up my readership and things like that. I want people to check out my blog and see my writing first. I need to get back to the basics.) Don't get me wrong I want readers, but I don't want to focus on the numbers anymore.

February is almost over and the February blues are getting shaken off and replaced with me getting re-focused. I'm excited. I feel motivated. I'm ready for whatever God has in store for me! :)

  2. Awesome! You know, I went through the same thing with my first blog. I joined every links party I could and wanted thousands of followers. What I got was a large number of followers but never any comments. I decided to delete mine and start over. I am so happy with mine now. I don't have many followers but I do have faithful readers and commenters who are true friends and have actually been able to meet one blogging buddy. I am so glad you didn't decide to delete your blog. I write about whatever too. I write a lot about Darbee for our blog books. You will do great. Just let everyone see the real you and I know they will love you and your blog.

  3. Great job, hon! You're a great blogger, and I believe you've got what it takes to do whatever you want with you blog. I think the whole "blog readership hyper-drive" is very similar to the whole "I'm on Facebook and I have 3000 friends, help me get to 4000!!!" It just doesn't work that way. You can't just add the world and call them all "friend" if you're not doing the extra work of contacting each one on a regular basis -- and I don't mean stupid chain mailings.

If you need anything at all, Pinterest. And if that doesn't help, well, you know how to contact me. ~_<3

  4. Welcome back, Anna. Have fun! I am trying to learn to be a bit less obsessive about the blogging too! Have a good week.

  5. Good for you. Welcome back. I do the same. Try to keep links I participate to 2 or less and event those I am not not consistent every week. I miss reading the blogs I love but I don't at least try not to stress over what I miss.
    Daphne.
