Friendships: The good and the bad

Hey everyone!

I'm guessing it was a good thing I posted so much yesterday. I'm saying this because I'm not feeling well today. I didn't sleep well and I think I'm getting a cold. :/ Unfortunately, I have a meh immune system...it's not the worst, but certainly not the greatest. I pick up most colds that come around. So I'll try and keep it short today.

So last night I got together with some friends I haven't seen in quite awhile. It was nice to talk and catch up. It's also nice to feel that even though a great deal of time has passed, you can still reconnect with these friends and not feel entirely out of the loop. I love it when a friendship is that strong.

Friendships are not always like that. In fact, one of those friendships got brought up at the close of the night. For once I didn't feel angry about talking about the situation. I felt sad. It kind of made me wonder what could have been. I'm not sure if things could have gone differently, but I think about it every now and then. It's nice to finally have peace about the situation....maybe I'm growing up?! ;)

***Please feel free to share your thoughts on the subject! I'd love to hear what you have to say.***

Here's a few pics from the evening:

Yep, Sophie and I were the only girls

I think Marquis is Sophie's favorite person. <3

Gotta love this expression;)

I will end this entry by answering one of the "50 questions to free your mind" I got from Vanessa's Creativity and Life, you can check out her blog here: http://vanessajackeline.blogspot.com (I will answer one question per blog until I reach the end of them.) These questions have no right or wrong answers. Because sometimes asking the right questions is the answer.

Question 1: How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I'm thinking I would be in my late 20's-early 30's. I would still be a little immature, but also have wisdom and discernment.

  4. I completely agree with the friendships. My best friends live on the coast and we only get together every year or so...now with having kids the five of us have not seen each other in almost 5 years! We've got a trip in May scheduled and I'm sure it will be just like we left it...love those relationships!!!

  6. When I step back and look at all the people that have come in and out of my life as friends, "friend," or acquaintances, I realize I have a handful of true friends and the rest are just acquaintances.

  7. I love getting together and picking up where the last conversation left off! That's true friendship!
About the blog button, if you go to this link it tells you very clearly how to make one. It's actually very easy, but reading the code may take some patience. Don't worry...just relax and take a few minutes to read it and you'll get it.

  8. Ahhhhhh, friendships, like love affairs are so personal and subjective everyone is each their own creation the way I look at it. So either they grow or grow for a time and then there's a parting of the ways? Hello, I'm late coming here but thanks for visiting my blog and following me from the Monday blog hop. I'm here to follow you back and I'm so glad I am. You seem like a very nice person who has writing skills, so this is going to be a lot of fun. Happy Wednesday!

  9. I think that in order to maintain great friendships one has to be loving enough to tell the truth, but wise enough to know when to just listen. Unfortunately, I had to lose a great friendship a few years ago in order to fully understand this concept. As a result of that loss, I've become a lot more mindful of my words.

  13. One of my best friend's lives in England. I haven't seen her in person in 10 years. We keep in touch via Facebook and email primarily. This past Christmas we had our first ever Skype call - it was like we just saw each other yesterday. It's a great feeling when you know you have friends like that!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
