It is hard to believe that it has been a year since my great-grandfather (pawpaw) passed away. It still feels so clear and fresh in my mind. I sometimes still feel like I'll walk into a room and he will be there, cracking jokes and he'll have a special nickname for Declan. I know he loved him. I often think that he is smiling down on me and I can only hope that he is proud of the woman I'm becoming.
